Four Key Features of the Brain Sleep Pillow with Over 300,000 Units Sold
1. Designed with over 90% air layers, achieving exceptional breathability.
2. Using patented technology to adjust the thickness and density of polyethylene fibers, creating a "three-layer × nine-stage gradation structure." Combining both high resilience and low resilience properties, it conforms to different sleeping positions and head shapes. Over time, it gradually adapts to individual needs, becoming your personalized ideal pillow.
3. The entire pillow can be washed with water, making it easy to maintain cleanliness long-term. If the pillow height becomes unsuitable, fluffiness can be restored with 45-50°C warm water. Additionally, testing shows it is significantly less likely to harbor dust mites compared to typical down or polyurethane materials. It can be used comfortably even in high temperature and humidity environments where dust mites easily thrive.
4. Made in Japan. Each pillow is carefully handcrafted by artisans in Kusu Town, Oita Prefecture.

Taiwan's Sleep Situation
Taiwanese people may have the shortest sleep duration in the world.
According to a 2021 survey by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Japan's average sleep time is approximately 7.4 hours, the lowest globally, but Taiwan was not included in this ranking. A Taiwanese survey (760 participants) showed that the average sleep time for Taiwanese people is approximately 6.2 hours. This is 1.2 hours less than Japan, which has the world's shortest sleep time, making it the lowest level in the world. Additionally, beyond sleep duration, approximately 46.6% of Taiwanese people report "problems with sleep quality" (Tai et al., 2015), making sleep deprivation in Taiwan a significant social issue.
Taiwan's climate conditions may exacerbate sleep problems.
Taiwan's climate may actually be impacting this "poor sleep problem." Surrounded by ocean on all sides, Taiwan has high humidity year-round, with an annual average relative humidity of approximately 75-80%. Mid-summer average temperatures are around 30°C, creating hot and humid conditions. A large-scale survey of 8,611 people conducted in Taipei showed that for every 1% increase in relative humidity, sleep depth is affected, making it easier to wake up during sleep (Nguyen et al., 2025). Another survey report indicated that at the same temperature of 20°C, when humidity increases from 55% to 70%, deep sleep time decreases by 25 minutes (Cao T, et al. J. Build. Eng., 2021).
In Taiwan's high-humidity environment, it is necessary to re-examine sleep environments and pre-sleep behaviors to improve sleep quality.
Methods to Promote Sleep Onset and Improve Wake Quality
(1) Take a bath even in summer, completing it 90 minutes before bedtime (bathe at 40°C for 15 minutes)
People enter a sleep state when their core body temperature drops, but in hot and humid environments, body temperature is difficult to lower. Bathing forcibly raises body temperature, which has the characteristic of dropping significantly after rising. Since it takes 90 minutes for body temperature to drop after bathing, completing your bath 90 minutes before bedtime helps facilitate smooth sleep onset.
(2) Avoid excessive mental stimulation
It's recommended to avoid watching highly stimulating movies or games, and working right up until bedtime. Before bed, avoid fluorescent or other white lighting, and instead read or do stretching exercises in dimmer orange lighting, avoiding activities that overly stimulate the brain.
(3) Prevent heat and moisture accumulation around the head and sleep environment
As mentioned above, heat and moisture are major enemies of good sleep. The body releases heat when falling asleep, so it's necessary to create a sleep environment that doesn't trap heat and moisture. Use pillows and mattresses with good breathability, and bedding with high moisture absorption properties.

Expert Message from Dr. Seiji Nishino, Stanford University Professor and Brain Sleep Founder & Chief Research Advisor
"Sleep is not just about releasing fatigue and resting the body, but also has important functions such as memory organization and consolidation, hormone and autonomic nervous system regulation, brain waste removal, and immune system enhancement. One-third of our lives is spent sleeping, and we can say that this one-third of sleep determines the quality of the remaining two-thirds of our lives. Sleep is influenced by various factors including environmental factors, internal factors such as worries, and physical factors such as pain. The impact of bedding and bedroom conditions on sleep is also well known.
Pillows and bedding not only provide comfortable support for the head and torso, but are also expected to release body heat during sleep, lower core body temperature to promote sleep onset, and help create a comfortable and relaxing sleep experience.
The Brain Sleep Pillow was developed based on this concept, and verification through sleep brain waves has confirmed that it can guide quality sleep in the initial sleep period (the golden 90 minutes), bringing a more relaxed and restful feeling. I hope that by understanding the mechanisms of sleep and sleep-related physiological phenomena and making good use of this knowledge, we can bring quality sleep to everyone and make life richer and more fulfilling."
